  Getting to the Wolf River's Best Three Short Hikes
 

    William B. Clark, Sr. Nature Preserve & Boardwalk - Nature Conservancy Tenn.

    Take Poplar Ave. (Hwy. 57) east 6 miles past Collierville and turn left (North) on S.R. 194 in Rossville. The Clark Preserve entrance is on the north side of the Wolf River and 0.25 miles north of the Rossville Square.

    Mineral Slough Boardwalk - Ghost River State Natural Area –TDEC

    Take Hwy. 57 East to La Grange. Turn RIGHT (South) on Main St. (becomes Yager). Drive 1.5 miles (crossing the Wolf River at the 1-mile mark) and turn RIGHT (West) on Beasley Rd. Drive 1.3 miles on Beasley Rd. to trail head.

    Take Highway 72 east to Tower Road in Benton Co., Miss. That's 34 miles past the state line and 15 miles past 72's junction with Miss-7 (aka Tenn-18).  It's also less than 1 mile West of the Benton-Tippah line. Turn RIGHT (South) on Tower Rd. and bear RIGHT 100 yards later where it forks at the fire tower. Continue 0.5 miles until road ends at another dirt road (Old Hwy. 72, unmarked) and pull over. Walk across Old 72 to Baker's Pond trailhead (unmarked trail is basically a continuation of Tower Rd.). Baker's Pond is approx. 0.25 miles from trailhead.
