There
was an obvious difference in the two different parts of the river. The first weekend for the most part was an
undisturbed natural river that had not been tampered with. It was much narrower and much deeper. The first part did not have the wide basin
of where it appeared the river used to be.
The second part had obvious parts that had been constructed by
human. There were several locations
that had several thousands on tons on rock placed in and on the bank of the
river. There was also more pollution in
the second part of the river were sewer lines dumped human waste in the
river. But other than the sewer lines I
really enjoyed both trips. I know I
complained about falling out the first week, but I really enjoyed the scenery
and the adventure. A challenge for me,
besides staying in the boat, was for me to enjoy myself because I need that I
would be getting tired easily. The most
important thing I learn is how we as humans can physically affect the
environment. There was obvious
difference in landscape and what kind of shape the river was in on the second
part. I also enjoyed learning about the
different organisms in this region. I
was also fun because on our bus ride this weekend I saw some of the different
plant species and I was telling people on the bus. But overall I thought it was a great to trips and I am looking
forward to doing it again.
