Community Service Projects
Boy Scout and Girl Scout Service Projects
Wolf River Conservancy has a long standing relationship working with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. There are a variety of opportunities on our lands to help the Wolf River depending on the size and ability level of your Scouting group. WRC works with several Eagle Scout candidates each year on their Eagle Scout Service Projects. Ken Kimble, WRC Director of Development, is an Eagle Scout and active Scouting volunteer. Contact Ken at
ken.kimble@wolfriver.org.
Community Organizations and Service Projects
There are opportunities throughout Shelby County for community organizations such as churches and civic clubs to work on WRC lands. Projects will vary and are customized for each group’s size and abilities. Some past projects have included riverbank clean-ups, invasive plant removal and tree planting.. Business/Corporate Service Projects
Many companies promote community service through their employees. Wolf River Conservancy is delighted to be able to work with corporate partners providing appropriate and meaningful opportunities for folks to get their hands dirty and help the Wolf River. School Service Projects
Wolf River Conservancy service projects for K-12 schools can be designed to accomodate academic requirements as needed. Several schools have taken advantage of our service project opportunities to fulfill capstone or Think Show requirements for their students, for example. Contact Cathy Justis, the Wolf River Conservancy Education Director, to discuss possible service projects by calling 901-452-6500, ext. 302, or emailing
