Join The Wolf River Conservancy as Dr. Jason Houxema introduces us to the weird and wonderful world of mushrooms! Mushrooms are neither plants nor animals. They constitute their own kingdom: the Fungi! Dr. Hoeksema’s research centers on plant-fungi interactions, and he teaches mycology at Ole Miss, a popular course with students. He also enjoys sharing what he knows about ‘shrooms with the public. Dr. Hoeksema earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Michigan, and a PhD in Ecology from the University of California, Davis. He held postdoctoral research positions at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and at the National Evolutionary Synthesis Center (at Duke University), before joining the faculty at The University of Mississippi in 2007.Please register for this free webinar and join us at 6:30pm on Thursday, August 13th!
