Introducing Conservancy Intern Emma Sorette

Emma Sorette is interning with us this summer, lending a hand with many different activities indoors and outdoors.  She had accompanied our Conservation Director on land inspections, helped maintain the Ghost River paddling trail, assisted with education programs and youth paddling, and taken on several stewardship tasks such as protecting young trees from beaver damage and managing pollinator beds.  We are lucky to have such a hard worker who is also very interested in plants, ecology, and conservation.  Here's what Emma herself has to say:

"My name is Emma Sorette and I am a senior Ecology major at Christian Brothers University.  I have always been in awe of the environment around me and the natural wonders out there, such as the Wolf River Aquifer.  I plan to go into conservancy work after college, helping to protect and enhance the wild areas around us.  My internship with the Wolf River Conservancy will give me the field experience and techniques I need to do well in conservancy work."

We're happy to have you with us, Emma!
