5K+ Forecast: Unstoppable!

The energy was electric on Saturday, June 7, at the Shady Grove Trailhead as more than 500 participants registered for the third annual Discover the Greenway 5K+! Although the skies looked questionable early on, the storms held off just long enough for a fantastic morning on the Wolf River Greenway. Participants of all ages and experience levels showed up ready to run, walk, celebrate, and support our mission. Everyone did an amazing job, and we had a wonderful time celebrating our beautiful Wolf River Greenway together.

We’re excited to share that overall race registration grew by 20% this year, a clear sign that Discover the Greenway 5K+ is becoming a favorite in our community. We’ve already started planning how to make next year’s event even more memorable. Mark your calendars for June 2026!

Thanks to the generosity of our fundraisers, over $5,000 was raised in support of the Greenway this year.  We cannot thank all who participated and donated to this event enough. Your support helps preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the Wolf River Greenway, ensuring it remains a treasured natural corridor for generations to come.  

If you registered but missed the event, you can still pick up your race T-shirt and finisher medal at the Wolf River Conservancy office on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.  Email Natalie.schuh@wolfriver.org with questions.
