Volunteer Spotlight: Jax Fontanilla - Eagle Scout Energizes the Wolf

We wish to congratulate Jax Fontanilla for completing his Eagle Project with Wolf River Conservancy, obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 457. After planning the project and leading his troop, his family, and volunteers in completing the work, Jax has enhanced a portion of hiking trail at Epping Way, forging a new path through the dense brush in mid-summer. The intense heat was no match for proper planning, frequent water breaks, and the sheer determination of Scout Troop 457. The unpaved trail for hikers and bikers extends off the trail to the beach. Jax also did a fundraising effort that covered supplies for the project and an extra $502 donation to the Wolf River Conservancy. Sincerest thanks to Jax, his family, and Troop 457!

At many points throughout his youth, Jax has been a steady fountain of energy, ready to serve our organization. Choosing WRC as the beneficiary of his Eagle Project was a no brainer for him after participating in Conservancy educational and service activities with his family as a child. His parents helped to instill a lifelong love of the outdoors and the Wolf River by bringing him and his brother out to learn and to volunteer with us.

We welcome any Scout ready to embark on their Eagle Project and any Scout troop willing to put in some sweat equity along the Wolf River, all to allow others to experience the Wonder of the Wolf!

Celebrate Jax Fontanilla of Troop 457, who completed his Eagle Project with Wolf River Conservancy, enhancing trails and supporting river conservation.
