Thanks, Volunteers, for Two Terrific March Projects!

270 volunteers contributed about 340 hours to improving the world and supporting the Conservancy in March.  On Mar. 5th, 124 volunteers potted up about 3,000 young trees at Urban Earth where they will be nurtured until ready to plant throughout the city by The Works CDC and Tennessee Urban Forestry Council.  For our World Water Day project, 136 volunteers picked up trash on land and on the water in four different locations, three at Mud Island, and one at Kennedy Park.  The total haul? 191 bags of trash, 14 tires, and several large objects!  We want to thank everyone for their hard work, including our volunteer River Guides and lead volunteers David Llewellyn and Kyle Dixon.  Several groups and partners came out to work together:  University of Memphis, Ole Miss, Bank of American, First Horizon, Just Serve, and others - thank you all!  Thanks also to our Series Sponsor Brother International, our Event Day Sponsors International Paper (Arbor Day) and Sylvamo (World Water Day), and our Sustaining Sponsors AutoZone, Buckman, Crawford Howard Foundation, FedEx, Hyde Family Foundation, and Ring Container Technologies.
