Dear Wolf River Conservancy Friend,
Since the founding of the Wolf River Conservancy, providing opportunities to enjoy the outdoors has been an important part of our outreach to the community. Our recreational and educational activities support our land conservation mission, as well as the continued construction of the Wolf River Greenway.
There is no better time to get outside and enjoy the Wolf River Greenway and other outdoor activities than during this beautiful spring weather!
Here are some good reasons to go outside and enjoy nature:
• To reduce stress: Spending time in nature can help to reduce stress levels by lowering blood pressure, heart rate, and cortisol levels. It can also help to improve sleep quality and increase feelings of relaxation.
• To improve mood: Time spent in nature can also help to improve mood and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. Studies have shown that exposure to green spaces can increase feelings of happiness, vitality, and well-being.
• To boost your health: Exposure to nature can also boost your health in a number of ways. It can help to improve your cardiovascular health, reduce your risk of obesity, and improve your immune system function.
Here is one more excellent reason to go outside and enjoy the natural world: our Discover the Greenway event Saturday, June 3rd through Saturday, June 10th!
Sign up for Discover the Greenway and participate in a variety of experiences such as paddling, a nature walk, a bike ride, and other activities still in the planning stages. We will conclude the event with a 5K run on Saturday, June 10th.
Discover the Greenway is an annual fundraising event directly supporting the Wolf River Conservancy’s conservation, education, and work. It is easy to register and help us fundraise by visiting wolfriver.org/discover.
Or register only for the Discover the Greenway 5K Run at https://raceroster.com/events/2023/74137/discover-the-greenway-5k.
