On the Greenway: Another Great Year of Community Programming

In addition to their natural beauty, the open portions of the Wolf River Greenway include free community programming for all ages during the spring and the fall.  In 2022, over 600 participants enjoyed our programs at three Wolf River Greenway locations.  Over 200 people joined our Wildflower Wander and Mushroom Meander nature walk programs to learn about plants, wildlife, mushrooms and more!

Our Paddle the Greenway programs held on the 20-acre lake at the Epping Way section drew more than 180 individuals and families who wanted to experience paddling a canoe or kayak.  Free exercise programs were also offered at the trailhead for the Mud Island section of the Greenway.  And, thanks to our sponsor Sylvamo, we hosted a Mental Health Awareness Day on Oct. 1 at Epping Way where over 120 participants learned more about mental health resources in their neighborhoods while enjoying healthy food and family activities along the trail.

The Wolf River Conservancy and its partners are happy to provide not only a space for exercise and connection with nature, but programs to help boost the body and soul as well.  This was our second successful year of Wolf River Greenway community programming, and we are now planning for 2023! Thank you to all of our instructors and volunteers for making our 2022 season a success!
