September 2022: A Message from Our Director

Dear Wolf River Conservancy friend,

The Wolf River Conservancy’s signature celebration, our annual Greenway Soiree’, returns this year at 6pm on Saturday, November 5th, at the Children’s Museum of Memphis.  Besides a chance to ride on the museum's Grand Carousel, attending the Soiree helps to support the work of the Wolf River Conservancy.

Join us for a night of exceptional entertainment, a silent auction, dinner, and drinks, and, of course, rides on the locally renowned carousel as we raise our glasses and celebrate the Wonder of the Wolf!

You can easily register online at https://secure.qgiv.com/event/gs2022/register/

Our “Presenting Sponsor” for the Greenway Soiree’ is Ring Container Technologies, one of the Conservancy's corporate benefactors.  We appreciate Ring’s financial support for this event and for its continuing support throughout the year.

We also wish to acknowledge the generous support from our “Platinum Sponsors,” Belz Family Foundation, Brother International and International Paper.

Just a reminder, your support of the Wolf River Conservancy helps now in our current work and in some of our strategic accomplishments, such as:

Wolf River Greenway: If you have visited the Wolf River Greenway, you understand that it is much more than a trail. You may have not realized that it is part of our land conservation plan. The original notion to build the Greenway was to help mitigate the pollution of the urban Wolf River. Today the Wolf River Greenway has 14 miles open to the public and upon completion will traverse 26 miles in the City of Memphis connecting 1800 acres of greenspace.

North American Wetlands Conservation Act: The Conservancy was recently awarded a grant from the North American Conservation Act (NAWCA). This grant will enable us to protect an additional 1,250 acres by 2023, positioning our conservation work toward the future. Achievement of this grant also recognized the quality of our land conservation projects and their importance.

Accreditation by the Land Trust Alliance Commission: Supporting all our work is the distinction of being an accredited land trust in compliance with the Land Trust Alliance Commission standards and practices. This distinction means that you -  our friends, donors, volunteers, and landowners -  are supporting and working with a land trust that operates at the highest level of standards.

Please join us in November for The Greenway Soiree, and visit wolfriver.org to learn more about all of our upcoming activities.
